I’m a Manchester-based wedding photographer who covers weddings in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, North Wales, Cumbria and all across North West England. The following blog is all about my Wrenbury Hall Wedding Photography.

My style is natural and relaxed, with most of my coverage being documentary in approach but with some outstanding portraiture. I love working with fun, quirky couples who want to have fun on their wedding day.

Wrenbury Hall as a Wedding Venue

Wrenbury Hall has been a Cheshire stately home for over 400 years. It became a wedding venue in the 1980s and over time has become an exclusive-use wedding venue on beautiful grounds in a secluded setting.

The current owners maintain it as the perfect venue to get married in, offering both indoor and outdoor spaces. There are a limited number of rooms for your wedding at Wrenbury Hall, but the ones they have are perfectly suited to your big day. The staff take good care of the wedding party.

As well as the main building, there is a small lodge set to one side for the guys to get ready in which has a seating area, mini bar, shower and changing area.

The immaculately maintained grounds of Wrenbury Hall are the perfect backdrop for your wedding photography and the perfect place to get some gorgeous photos.

Wrenbury Hall Wedding Photographer

Wrenbury Hall wedding photography is a pleasure. The venue is well thought out, and the Hall staff really look after you. There are loads of beautiful backdrops to use for your wedding photography. It’s a great Cheshire venue.

Arrival

When I arrived at Wrenbury Hall, Rob was outside, getting some shots of the groom and his friends and family playing games outside. I parked up, then had a chat with Rob and introduced myself to the groom and his groomsmen.

Upstairs

We went upstairs together, and I met the lovely bride-to-be and her bridesmaids. I only got a few shots before we headed into the main bridal suite for some photographs of the dress. Then I left Rob with the ladies and headed down to the guys for the groom prep.

Groom’s Prep

Rather than getting ready in the main house, the groom was getting ready in a fairly new outbuilding that was spacious and light. It had everything they needed, such as a shower, their suits and of course a fridge for their drinks. They wanted a photograph of all their suits hanging together, so I made sure I got that for them.

They all got ready then there was a touching moment when he opened a gift box from his fiancee. Guys can be quite sentimental at weddings, and I could tell he was deeply touched. I love capturing moments like this.

Meeting their dog

The wedding ceremony was to be outside, so when they were ready, they all headed back out to finish making sure everything was in place. The couple had a family friend looking after their dog, so naturally, I wanted to say hello.

Their dog, however, was a bit wary of strangers, so it took me a good part of the day to win him over.

Ceremony

Once again, I was thankful that the wedding day was so warm and dry. I do love an outdoor wedding. I’d worked out with Rob the angles we’d use and had also planned to do something a little different.

When everyone was in place, the ceremony began. I’d set myself well back so that I could get some shots of the bride walking from Wrenbury Hall to the ceremony area and then got a few shots from behind as she walked down the aisle.

During the ceremony, I was able to move around quite freely to get the wedding photos I wanted.

Drone Photography of the Ceremony

When I was talking to Rob earlier, I realised I hadn’t seen many drone shots of wedding services.

We decided that the least distracting and safest time to put my drone up would be during the signing so that I could have it in place for photography of the couple coming down the aisle.

This worked really well and is something I will repeat in the future. As long as the weather and wedding venue allows it.

Group and Couple Portraits

Straight after, we went into the group portraits. Rob went inside to take the whole group shot from an upstairs window. Then seeing as I had my drone handy, we got everyone to turn around and also get the group photograph with Wrenbury Hall in the background.

From there, it was the rest of the usual group shots with both sides of the family, the bridal party, friends, etc. While Rob did that, I was busy taking candids and snaffling a few canapes.

Then it was onto one of my favourite parts of wedding photography, the portraits. Being as I was the second shooter and not the main wedding photographer, I took a back seat and got a few different angles and tried a few different shots.

Wedding Reception

The wedding reception had started while we were doing the bridal portraits, but the Wrenbury Hall staff had thoughtfully helped back some canapes for the couple. This is something that I will start suggesting couples ask for as they often miss out on their own food.

Wedding Breakfast

It wasn’t long before we were called in for the wedding meal. The guests found their tables then all stood for the entrance of the new husband and wife. Whilst the meals were had, Rob and I took our meal outside, and it was delicious.

The speeches were after the meal. These were really good fun.

Evening Reception

In the evening, more wedding guests arrived at Wrenbury Hall to mark the special occasion.

First Dance

The couple did the usual order of first cutting the cake; then they took to the dance floor for their first dance. This was a pleasure, and they clearly enjoyed themselves. Even better, not long after, they had a ceilidh band perform, and that really got everyone having fun and dancing.

It really put the icing on my Wrenbury hall wedding photography.
