I had only been to Astley Bank once, but it was for afternoon tea with my parents. This time, I would be second shooting a wedding for Matt Thompson. It was my first time as an Astley Bank Wedding Photographer.
I’m a wedding photographer based in Greater Manchester covering the North West of England. Including Lancashire, the Lake District and parts of North Wales.

Astley Bank
Astley Bank is a beautiful Victorian hotel hidden away in Darwen, Lancashire. The venue is stunningly maintained, and the grounds are beautiful.
The Wedding
Matt had booked me in to cover the groom prep in nearby Blackburn, then onto Astley Bank for the rest of the wedding day.
The morning prep was chilled out with the groom and his party getting ready at a local hotel, where they stayed for a couple of drinks before heading over to the venue.

Astley Bank Wedding Ceremony
I drove over to Astley and met up with Matt, and then said hi to the bride. I spent the rest of the day taking loads of candids and chatting with the guests. It was a really lovely day being an Astley Bank Wedding Photographer.

The singing waiters were a great surprise, and as you can see, they really got the guests up and having fun. There were some surprisingly good singers among the guests too.
Overall, working alongside Matt at Astley Hall was an enjoyable day, and I hope to be back again soon.
