As a North West wedding photographer, I love working in the unique beauty around me, photographing the joy of each couple’s special day, such as this one at Grains Bar. I aim to create timeless images that reflect the love and connection between you and your partner. From the intimate moments to the grand celebrations, I’m dedicated to capturing the essence of your wedding day in a way that is as stress free as possible. Based in the heart of the North West, I’m familiar with the region’s stunning venues and can offer expert guidance on planning your perfect wedding day.
Grains Bar Hotel Weddings
I’m not sure what I can say about Grains Bar which I haven’t already said. It’s one of my favourite venues around here and I have photographed many weddings at this wonderful location. It’s located not far from Oldham, Greater Manchester and has beautiful views out across the hills. Views which make a stunning backdrop to your wedding photos. If you are looking for somewhere to get married then this should be high on your list. Even better, the owners and staff are all lovely and really good at their jobs.
Chris and Andraya
I was recommended to the couple by Karan Berry at the beginning of the year (thanks Karen) and after meeting with them things were soon booked in. They wanted me for my full day package which covers bridal prep until after first dance. This way, the whole day is covered and gives us lots of opportunities for great photos.
Wedding Prep at Grains Bar
The morning went really well with everything staying nice and relaxed. Andraya didn’t have bridesmaids so there was a lot more calm and space in the prep room than there usually is. The reveal to Andraya’s dad was a lovely moment and set the tone for a ceremony full of love.
The Wedding Ceremony
It was a short and sweet ceremony with lots of love and laughter. Chris and Andraya were soon a newly married couple. They proceeded out together then headed downstairs for their champagne reception.
They wanted to move onto the confetti walk quite quickly so they enjoyed the congratulations of their gusts as they passed and collected refreshments before heading outside.

Their friends and family were surprisingly easy to corral for the confetti and group shots so it all went very smoothly and quickly before we started some couple portraits.
Couple Portraits
I always like to break the portraits into two or three sessions throughout the day to ensure variety and to keep it from being too overwhelming for my couples.

The Wedding Breakfast
Before long it was time for the wedding meal and speeches. The speeches were first and were quite brief being just the father of the bride and a few words from the couple, but they went down well. It was then time for the wedding breakfast which was a rather tasty buffet put on by the skilled kitchen at Grains Bar. After a break and a meal we were ready to head outside again for time with their guests and a few more couple photographs.
More Couple Portraits
After the wedding breakfast and some time with their guests, we decided to do some shots with my drone and then they had their dog sitter bring their lovely dog for a few group photos with their pooch.
The Cake Cutting
After everyone was back inside we moved onto the cutting of the cake before they moved on to the first dance.
The First Dance
Chris and Andraya’s first dance was to These Beautiful Things by Benson Boon and it was a lovely moment. Soon, their friends and relatives joined them on the dance floor.
The talking and partying carried on for a while and then when the light was right, I took them outside for a final portrait session.
