Greetings, I’m a Manchester based wedding photographer who covers weddings across the North West and that definitely includes Liverpool. As such, this was not my first time as a St George’s Hall wedding Photographer.
St George’s Hall
St George’s Hall is on Lime Street in Liverpool and is a Neoclassical masterpiece which opened in 1854, the hall was designed by the young architect Harvey Lonsdale Elmes and is a Grade I listed building. Seemingly on any day of the week there will be multiple weddings happening here so you have to make sure you photograph the right wedding party. This wedding was on a Friday afternoon.

Emily and Ryan’s Wedding
The trip from Manchester to Liverpool can be met with extra traffic so I made sure to allow extra travel time. This of course meant I was extremely early but fortunately, I wasn’t the only one. The groom’s sister was also extra early so we had a good chat and waited for the guests to arrive. After a while they did so I started photographing the guests as the arrived at St George’s Hall. Ryan was their to greet them and he had his groomsmen at his side to help guide everyone up to the ceremony room.
Wedding Ceremony at St George’s Hall

The registrars had interviewed both bride and groom, and so it was time for the ceremony to begin. The groomsmen ushered the guests in and Ryan waited nervously at the front. Soon, the music started and Emily entered, preceded by her flower girls and bridesmaids.
Everything ran smoothly and in no time, they were husband and wife.
After the Wedding Ceremony
Everyone wanted to congratulate the new husband and wife, it was a pleasure to photograph all the love shared there.
The light coming though the large windows downstairs was exquisite so I made sure to photograph a selection of their friends and family as the had a drink and congratulated the newly married couple.
Confetti
I’d spent some time talking to Emily about the confetti walk. My advice to people is to always go biodegradable and have it in a couple of baskets. This way, everyone can grab a large handful and not have to worry about the little packets its normally in.
I got everyone lined up and Emily and Ryan were soon lost in a veritable blizzard of confetti. It was so much fun!

The last thing we did with the guests was the group photos. I used the steps at the front of St George’s Hall for these.

Couple Portraits around Liverpool
We started the portrait session around the side of St Georges Hall while their guests headed by bus to the wedding reception venue.
From their we took an exclusive black Merc provided by Prestige Airport Transfers down to the Albert docks for a few more photographs.
After we were done with the photos, the cab took the bride and groom to their venue, and dropped me back at St Georges Hall. I wouldn’t be there for the rest of their day but did see some photos of their wedding reception, cake cutting and first dance online. Emily and Ryan told me they had an amazing wedding day when I spoke to them the day after. What a lovely couple!
