When you can’t choose 1 colour for your Grains Bar Hotel Wedding, Choose them all and I’ll be there to photograph it for you. I’m a wedding photographer in Tameside and often shoot weddings at Grains Bar. I also cover most of the North West and the Lakes.

Grains Bar Hotel
Welcome back to one of my favourite local venues, in the outskirts of Oldham not far from Greater Manchester. This is a lovely place to get married with committed staff, tasty food and breath-taking views. If you’re looking for a place to get married then this should be on your list.

Ryan and Ruth
Ruth and Ryan didn’t initially plan on having a wedding photographer, but Ryan’s mum Angela got in touch with me close to the wedding. She wanted to see if I could photograph their wedding and I was so happy I was available. We all met up and went over their requirements and they booked me straight away. Ryan is a personal trainer and Ruth joked he may turn up in gym gear.
Wedding day at Grains Bar Hotel
I was booked to cover the ceremony and to do group and couple portraits after. I was there early enough to get some shots of their guests arriving and and even a few shots of Ruth and her bridesmaids doing the final bit of prep.
The Wedding Ceremony
Ryan was obviously nervous, but Ruth knowing him well had planned for this. So, before they bridesmaids made their entrance She’s Your Queen from Coming To America played. It had the desired effect and got a good laugh from Ryan and the rest of us of a certain age. It was a beautiful ceremony even though I was in a bit of a corner for some of it.
After the wedding ceremony we all went outside for the formal group photos. The weather was off and on so we were prepared to go into the new marquee for the group photographs. Fortunately, we were lucky and able to get them done outside in the better light. The bride and groom had decided on bubbles instead of confetti so we had some fun with that. The wedding planner managed to find a couple of boxes of confetti as well so we threw that after.
Wedding Reception
The couple didn’t want a lot of wedding portraits doing, so instead I used my time with them to capture more shots of their guests. I even did some shots for their young niece who is a very talented dancer.
All in all, it was a very fun day photographing the wedding of Ryan and Ruth at Grains Bar Hotel. Thanks again to Angela for bringing me in.
