Nicola and James booked me for their wedding photography and videography at Norton Grange Hotel, Rochdale. Nicola loved my laid-back style and wanted that for her big day.

I’ve shot many weddings at Norton Grange now and enjoy the venue and staff there. I photograph weddings across the whole of the North West and am always pleased when I don’t have a massive drive ahead of me.

The Wedding Video

The Wedding Day

My day started with meeting Jack Smithies, who I had hired to shoot the video for me. We discussed the day ahead, and he got some drone footage before we went inside to meet the bride.

After the hellos, we got started. I was taking photos of the prep while Jack filmed, and my son went to capture detail shots in the ceremony room.

The Wedding Ceremony

Jack, Aeron and I worked out our best angles for the ceremony so we wouldn’t be in each other’s shot.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful, and Nicola’s dad looked so proud walking her down the aisle.

Norton Grange Wedding Reception and Confetti

After the ceremony, we moved on to drinks and canapes before heading outside for the confetti walk.

I let the mingle with the wedding guests for a while before stealing them away for the couple portraits.

There are some lovely areas at Norton Grange for portraits and great views over the fields towards the canal.

When we were finished with the portraits, we headed back for the group shots and the couple were treated to a private show by the magician.

Wedding Breakfast at Norton Grange

While I was photographing them with the magician, Jack set up inside, and Aeron got room shots for me.

Then the couple were announced into the room for the speeches and meal.

After the wedding breakfast it was time for some more family photos and of course there was loads of mingling and evening guests began to arrive.

Evening Reception

With the evening guests having arrived, we soon progressed onto the cutting of the cake and the first dance.

The first dance was particularly special as Nicola has overcome some severe mobility problems to get to where she is now. There were tears and dancing galore.

We finished the night with some final portraits outside and the guys all shared cigars.
