I’m a North West wedding photographer who loves photographing weddings in this part of the country. There are so many beautiful places to get married, such as the Inn at Whitell, which makes being a wedding photographer so rewarding.
My style of photography is relaxed and fun and a mixture of candid and creative portraiture. I pride myself on keeping the photography hassle-free so that you can enjoy your day.

The Inn at Whitewell
The Inn at Whitewell is a beautiful 17th-century inn set in the heart of the Ribble Valley. It is a stunning location for a wedding, with its rustic charm, rolling hills, and stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

The inn has a variety of event spaces that can accommodate weddings of all sizes, from intimate ceremonies for just a few guests to large receptions for up to 200 people. The main dining room is the most popular wedding choice, with its exposed beams, stone walls, and fireplace. The marquee is another option for outdoor weddings.
As a wedding photographer, I find that the Inn at Whitewell offers a variety of beautiful backdrops for your photos. The inn itself is full of character, with its old beams and stone walls. The surrounding countryside is also stunning, with rolling hills, forests, and rivers.
And, of course, don’t forget the stepping stones as an excellent place for the more adventurous bride and groom.

The Mistery Couple
Some couples are more private than others and don’t want to have a big online presence. We agreed on my using some of the images on this blog, but names have been changed to protect the innocent. Or something like that.
Let me introduce them to you. We have Jonny Diamond as the groom and Modesty Blaise as the heroine; I mean bride.
I’m not so sure how many action heroes have their mum organise their wedding photographer, but that is what Modesty’s mum did. We discussed their requirements and made a cunning plan, which was obviously passed on via microfilm.
The Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony took place at St Mary’s Gisburn. The church was meaningful to the couple and a beautiful, old building.

Some vicars restrict where I can be in a church during the ceremony. Today, however, the vicar was Modesty’s father, so I was a lot freer to move and get the best photographs. It was really lovely that he could be the one to bless their marriage.
Of course, with her father officiating, he could not walk her down the aisle, so this honour fell to her mum instead. It was a beautiful service and went by so quickly.

Afterwards, we took some photos inside as it was very windy, but we did get outside for some more shots and confetti before walking to La Locanda for the wedding breakfast.

La Locanda Wedding Breakfast
I know I always comment on the food, and it’s usually good, but this time the food was fantastic! Authentic, fresh Italian food. They invited me to help myself, so I did.
While we were there, Modesty and Jonny made speeches and thank yous, as well as remembering those who couldn’t be there. Then, we all enjoyed some more food before heading over to the Inn at Whitewell for some more wedding photography.

Portraits at the Inn at Whitwell

The bride and groom soon arrived at the Inn, and we walked together down to the stepping stones across the river Hodder. It was quite an adventure getting there, but it was so worth it. I had great fun wading in the river to get the photos I wanted, and I’m sure you’ll agree it was worth it.

After the river, we rinsed off in the dog was (no jokes, please) before heading back to the Inn at Whitewell for a few more pictures.

Modesty and Jonny were great fun to work with. I really enjoyed creating stunning photographs with them.
