I am an experienced laid-back wedding photographer based in the North West covering Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, North Wales, The Lake District and More. This was my second time as a Macdonald Kilhey wedding photographer and my first Indian wedding there.
Technically, this was only the reception, as they had done their ceremonies already.

Macdonald Kilhey Court
Macdonald Kilhey Court is a stunning Victorian country house hotel with 11 acres of landscaped gardens overlooking Arley Reservoir. It is a popular wedding venue, offering a range of flexible suites to accommodate both intimate weddings and lavish celebrations for up to 300 guests. The hotel’s experienced wedding team will work with you throughout your journey to plan your perfect day, and you can also take advantage of unique offers from local wedding suppliers.
The hotel’s beautiful Lakeside and Tennyson Suites offer spectacular views of the gardens and lakes beyond, making them some of the most romantic venues in Lancashire. Other popular wedding venues at the hotel include the Victoria Garden Suite, the Georgian Suite, and the Orangery.
Whether you’re looking for a small, intimate wedding or a grand celebration, Macdonald Kilhey Court is the perfect place to say “I do.”
Lakeside Suite
The Lakeside Suite is a large-capacity self-contained event space at Macdonald Kilhey Court. This is perfect for Asian weddings, and it also has its own catering area.
The room is light, spacious and easy to personalise, and there is access to the gardens and lakes.

Macdonald Kilhey Wedding Reception
When I arrived, I chatted with Keiren Patel, who had brought me in to photograph the reception, and then I made sure I got plenty of detail shots.
It wasn’t long before the guests started arriving, and my brief for the day was lots and lots of candid photographs.

The arrival of the Bride and Groom
In no time at all, the bride and groom made their way from the main house down to the Lakeside suite, and fortunately, there was a break in the weather.
I waited outside to capture them walking down and then them dancing in, cutting the cake and taking their seats.

There was also a bit of champagne sampled.
Macdonald Kilhey Wedding Speeches
The speeches were fun and very brief, just what the guests tend to like.

Couple Portraits at the Macdonald Kilhey
The couple didn’t want to take a walk around the lovely grounds for their portraits, so we just took a few outside the entrance before returning to more guest candids.

So, after we had taken the portraits, we headed back inside to their guests.

There was also a break for some delicious food. The caterers were excellent and made sure Keiran and I were fed too. The food was delicious!
Check out my packages, portfolio and contact me.
Dancing at the Macdonald Kilhey
Lots and lots of dancing took up the rest of the night. The DJ was skilled and kept everyone on their feet, and there were a couple of Dhol Wallas too accompanying the music.

This was an enjoyable return to the Macdonald Kilhey as an Indian wedding photographer. I hope to return there again soon. Please take a look at my other Asian weddings or, more generally, at the weddings I have shot around Lancashire.
