Everglades Hotel Wedding Photography

The bride who booked me for her Everglades Hotel wedding photographer booked me because she had seen my work from when I photographed her cousin’s wedding a few years ago. She liked my natural, unposed shots and relaxed approach, two things I bring to every wedding I shoot.

Everglades Hotel

The Everglades Hotel lies in Widnes, Cheshire. Not far at all from Liverpool. This was my second wedding in as many months in the Wirral. I would love to show you some photos of the lovely fields around the Everglades Hotel and its exterior, but this weekend saw one of the worse storms the UK has had in years.

Sasha and Jason

Sasha got in touch with me only a short time before her wedding to see if I was available. They had decided to bring their wedding forward due to Sasha’s dad being in poor health, and she wanted to ensure he could be there for her wedding. Fortunately, February is a tranquil month for weddings, so I was able to help her out.

We had a couple of chats and a video call leading up to their wedding, which allowed us to plan the photography they wanted and, of course, get to know each other a bit. These conversations always make the wedding day run more smoothly.

Bridal Prep

Sasha was getting ready at her home in Widnes, so that’s where I started. I found a place to park and battled through the wind and rain to the front door.

I was let into a gloriously busy household with family and friends all getting ready. I introduced myself around and had a cup of tea, then got started.

Sasha’s whole family are delightful, making me feel welcome. They are all lovely and quite outgoing, making my job easy. I just got to work capturing their interactions and of course, some detail shots.

Wedding Ceremony at Widnes Town Hall

Once I had the photos I needed at Sasha’s house, I headed to the town hall for their ceremony.

The town hall is a lovely building with parking at the rear and a drop-off point at the front for weddings. The ceremony room is large and light, perfect for wedding photography.

I introduced myself to the registrars and said hi to Jason, then got a few shots of him, his son, best man and the wedding guests.

When I knew Sasha was due, I headed downstairs to get her arrival. There were a few of her friends from work downstairs to wish her well, so I chatted with them while we waited and ensured I got a few photos with her and them when she did.

The ceremony was lovely, with all going well. Their son was going to hand over the rings but seeing his mum come down the aisle put his emotions over the edge, so in the end, the best man had to do the ring bit.

Happily, Sasha’s dad was able to walk her down the aisle.

Everglades Hotel Wedding Reception

The rest of the day went well despite the weather. Sasha and Jason’s families made me feel welcome, and I worked really hard to get them some great photos. Take a look at the rest of their wedding day at Everglades Hotel.
