Joanne and John Runcorn Town Hall Wedding
Joanne and John had originally booked me just to photograph their wedding ceremony at Runcorn Town Hall. We had a few good chats leading up to their date and on one of these Joanne asked if I’d mind extending the cover so I could photograph some of their evening celebrations too.

I talked with Joanne about her new wedding photography requirements and we agreed on a new price. It was so easy sorting out the new contract, shout out to Studio Ninja! There may be another blog about them sometime.
It was my first time visiting Runcorn, let alone Runcorn Town Hall. I’d been past it on countless occasions heading towards Chester and North Wales to photograph weddings. This was to be my first time actually going there. I was very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the town hall is there. It is a real gem of a building that has some lovely grounds too. Plus, the registrars are lovely there. If you are getting married nearby then a Runcorn Town Hall wedding is well worth considering.
The Ceremony
I was really pleased on the special day to find John and his groomsmen wearing Hawaiian shirts, for once my shirt was the boring one. The wedding ceremony went beautifully and as I said above, the registrars were fantastic. Afterwards, we went into the gardens for group photos and some couple portraits. I was trialling a new old eBay lens, a Tokin 135. My Tokina 50mm is one of my favourite alternative lenses so I was really excited to try the 135.
I only got a few good shots with it and a load of unusable images, so it’ll be sold on. I never rely on a new lens on its own anyway so I had plenty of great shots from my Sony 35 1.4 and my 85 1.8.
After we were done with shots at Runcorn Town Hall Joanne and John joined their guests in a limo and I jumped in my Mini and headed to the New Devonshire.
The New Devonshire
Joanne and John kept things to Runcorn and had their reception at the New Devonshire, a friendly pub not far from the water. I got their first and got a few shots of their venue and was ready for their arrival.
The rest of their day went brilliantly with loads of friends and family, drinking and dancing. They even had a really talented magician , Robbie Danson performing.
