The Marriage of Mark and Tim
I’d known Mark for nearly 20 years when he came to me about doing his wedding photography. He’s been a good friend and frequent designer, and I was delighted he wanted to involve me. Especially given that, as a designer, he has a very particular taste.
Mark, Tim and I talked a few times, and they soon booked me for their Manchester Same-sex Wedding Photography.
The Wedding Day
Mark and Tim did not want their prep covering, so my day started at the Manchester Registry office on Lloyd St, Manchester.
I said hi to a few people I knew and then got photographing.
Manchester Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was as quirky and special, with cool shoes, suits and Jurassic Park references.
After the ceremony, we headed over to Seven Brothers for the reception.
Seven Brothers Wedding Reception
Seven Brothers is a cool beerhouse and restaurant in Ancoats. Tim and Mark had booked their downstairs room for the reception and, again, made it their own. There was a lit-up Loaf sign, lanterns, origami and Lego. There was also a rather delicious cake of cheese.
I enjoyed chatting with their friends and families and taking natural photos. We did the group shots in Seven Brothers, and then I took them out for portraits.

Northern Quarter Couple Portraits
We wandered around the Northern Quarter and made the most of its grand architecture and streets for some couple portraits.
After, Mark and Tim popped back to their apartment for a few minutes of peace while I headed back to the reception venue.
Rest of the Day
The rest of their wedding went well, with lots of drinking, dancing and playing with Lego. Mark and Tim were traditional enough to cut the cake and have a first dance. That’s about as traditional as they go š
