Laura and Jake
The Wedding of Laura and Jake finally took place in St Bartholomew’s church in Wilmslow last weekend, and though delayed, they couldn’t have asked for a better day.
Laura’s mum, Jackie, contacted me when their original photographer couldn’t cover their new date. It was no fault of the photographer; it was down to Covid. I arranged with Jackie to extend my ceremony-only cover and get some of Laura’s bridal prep, too.
On the day, I left Stalybridge nice and early and got over to where Laura was getting ready. They were all very friendly and greeted me warmly, so I said hi to them all and got to work. We managed to hang Laura’s dress outside and get some shots of it despite a strong wind at the time.
After that, I spotted what was meant to be one of the cake tiers on the side of the kitchen. Jake, after making the cake himself, had dropped this tier. Fortunately, it was in a box when it slid out of his boot. I was forced to try a bit, and it was delicious ;). The rest of the cake looked terrific, btw. Jake is a pastry chef, and he did a brilliant job.
At St Bartholomew’s Church
I got the rest of the photos I needed, then headed over to St Bartholomew’s church. It’s a truly beautiful old church and a lovely place to get married. I was lucky enough to park up there and headed inside to catch up with the vicar. She was really chilled and excited to be officiating weddings again after the past year.
The ceremony went well, and after we grabbed the group shots, their guests left for the reception, and I took them around the church grounds for some couple shots. Take a look:
