I’m a Manchester wedding photographer who loves mixing laid-back reportage with beautiful portraiture. I cover most of the North West regions, parts of North Wales, and the Lake District. Today’s story is about wedding photography at The Partridge Inn and All Saints Church.

The Couple
Kelly and Tom contacted me last year in May and initially only wanted my ceremony-only package. After some chatting, they extended their cover to include bridal prep and speeches.
They are a fun, relaxed couple who have been together for a while and have some beautiful children. They weren’t fussy about formalities and just wanted to have their wedding day their way.
The Wedding Day
Once again, I had my son Aeron assisting me. We headed to their beautiful home in Runcorn, shots of the wedding prep. We were invited in and made very welcome. The morning passed in a blur of activity. One excellent detail was that Tom got ready at the same house so we could also get some shots of his prep.
Tom headed to the church before Kelly finished getting ready, so there was still some secrecy.

Once Kelly was ready, we got the photographs of the reveal to her dad and then headed over to the church ourselves.

All Saints Church Wedding Ceremony
All Saints Church is in Daresbury, which was only a short journey. Aeron and I had a look around and introduced ourselves to the vicar. The vicar was very helpful and let us know her plans and where we could be during the ceremony.
I made sure I got some photos of Tom and his best man, as well as photos of their guests arriving.

Originally Kelly was going to come over in her brother’s rather nice Bentley, but he was delayed, so she arrived instead in a Range Rover.

Due to restrictions on where I could stand, I didn’t get as many centralised shots of Kelly and her dad, and her flower girls and bridesmaid walking down the aisle. But my son and I still got what we needed.
The ceremony went well, with plenty of love and laughter. What more do you need?

Couple Portraits at All Saints
After the guests had wished the couple well, we took a walk around the church grounds for a few portraits.

Fortunately, the brother had arrived with his Bentley, so after the photos were finished, we all headed over to The Partridge for the wedding reception.
Wedding Reception at the Partridge
The Partridge is a good-sized Inn in Stretton near Warrington. There are some pretty grounds, and the place is well-maintained. We didn’t eat there, but the food looked and smelled amazing!
Aeron and I arrived at the Partridge just before the couple arrived. We took photos outside with their wedding car, then headed in for mixing and drinks.

Group Photos and Couple Portraits
We corralled the guests outside for the group shots, and everyone behaved, so we quickly finished these. After we had sent their friends and family back inside, we took Kelly and Tom for another short portrait session.
I took them around the grounds, and the light was just perfect. Take a look:

The Speeches
Once back inside, it was time for Aeron and me to shoot the day’s final formal element: the speeches.
These were the traditional father-of-the-bride, groom, then best man. All three nailed their speeches, and the reactions were a joy to capture.

After the Speeches
After the speeches, the venue served the wedding breakfast. The wedding breakfast was the choice of either fish and chips or burger and chips, and it looked sensational!
I knew the couple wanted a couple more shots before we left, so while they were eating, Aeron helped me set up the lighting outside for a few final photos. Once I had it ready, I popped back in to get Tom and Kelly, and we got these last few portraits done. We all said our goodbyes, and the couple returned to their guests, and Aeron and I headed home.

What a great day!
