about me
This was my first experience of Gisburne Park wedding photography and I can’t even begin to describe how this amazing wedding venue perfectly fits my style as a photographer. There is so much opportunity to get out into nature and capture beautiful portraits then seamlessly transition into candid guest photos. The whole place is simply beautiful. My approach to wedding photography is a blend of relaxed documentary and creative portraiture which is also on the laid back, fun side. I want the day to be about you enjoying your wedding. I’m along to capture that without breaking the flow of your day.
I cover weddings across the North West UK including the Ribble Valley, Lancashire, Cheshire, Yorkshire, the Lakes and North Wales. This was one of the many weddings I second shot at this year and this one was with the talented Mike Langley of Satin Pictures.

Gisburne Park Estate: A Photographer’s Paradise
As a wedding photographer based in the North West, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless love stories in a variety of stunning venues. But few have captivated me quite like Gisburne Park Estate. This historic estate, nestled amidst the picturesque Ribble Valley, offers a truly enchanting setting for weddings that’s perfect for couples seeking a blend of elegance and natural beauty.
The moment I stepped foot onto the grounds of Gisburne Park Estate, I was immediately struck by its grandeur. The sprawling gardens, complete with manicured lawns, winding paths, and picturesque streams, provide a seemingly endless array of stunning backdrops for wedding photos. The estate’s historic buildings, including the Grade II-listed Gisburne Hall, offer a glimpse into the past and provide a charming and elegant setting for ceremonies and receptions.
Gisburne Park Estate is a versatile venue that can accommodate weddings of all sizes. Whether you’re planning a small, intimate ceremony or a grand celebration, the estate’s dedicated staff will ensure that every detail is taken care of. With its stunning scenery, historic charm, and exceptional service, Gisburne Park Estate is a photographer’s paradise and a truly unforgettable venue for weddings.
Wedding Prep

For a second shooter, the day usually starts with groom prep and today was not much different. I had parked up near the reception area as Gisburn Park is BIG. There, I met Mike before catching up with the groom and his groomsmen who were putting some final details in.
I caught a lift with them back to the lodges where the guys were getting ready then got to work photographing their prep.
It was a really fun time and they are a truly lovely group of people. When they were ready we walked back down to Gisburn Park and I took photos and video along the way. I even tried following them with my drone for a while.
Wedding Ceremony at Gisburne Park
For the wedding ceremony, they guys headed to the wedding tepee to greet the guests. When Mike got down to set up his cameras for filming the ceremony, I headed to the end of the woodland walk to wait for the bride and her father so I could get some shots of them walking over.
The ceremony went beautifully and there was even a bit of a sing along.
It was a great place to conduct the ceremony because it was so open and easy to work around.
After the wedding ceremony we all headed to the bridge over the stream for the confetti and group shot. I was using my drone for this part and Mike was shooting from the ground.
The Wedding Reception
We then proceeded to the reception tent for drinks and canapes.
They’d even arranged lawn games to keep the guests entertained. Mike focused on the group photographs while I captured their friends and family having fun.
Speeches and Wedding Breakfast
The guests were brought in and seated then the bride and groom were announced in, to applause and cheering.
Speeches went down well with two of the groomsmen giving a fun speech which had everyone laughing. After the wedding speeches, the food was served, and it was delicious.
The Duck Race
At the end of the wedding breakfast, it was announced that there would be a surprise duck race. The guests were split into teams and while and while the groomsmen going into position to the retrieve the ducks and announce the winner. The bride an groom and some of their family watched from the bridge and the ducks pitched into the river. This was a fun event to watch and photograph.

Couple Portraits
The light at this time was beautiful so Mike and I took Victoria and Perry for a walk around the area for some couple portraits.
There was plenty of socialising after the portraits before heading inside for the evenings entertainment.
The First Dance
The couple took to the dance floor for their first dance which was beautiful to watch. They danced together so well and everyone loved watching their routine.
Before long, they invited everyone onto the dance floor to join in the revelry and the live band started up. Live music always makes a wedding better.
Evening Fun
We finished off the evening with some night-time portraits. I was mostly the light stand at this point so look up Satin Pictures to see those portraits.
