St Peter’s church in Stalybridge is very local for me. So, a year or so ago, when Dan booked me for his wedding, I was looking forward to it. It wouldn’t be, I thought, before I get to pop out, shoot their wedding and be home in time for tea. Dan and Louise had booked me for my ceremony-only package.
I’ve lost track of how often we have had to rearrange their date, possibly 4 or 5. I was happy to do it for them, though, as I am with all my couples, as the dreaded C word has affected us all. Well, it finally came around, and even with restrictions in place, it was a lovely ceremony.
I arrived early so I could speak to the father and set up video, and get some shots of the church as well. There was a lovely surprise in that I knew one of the guests as well from archery.
I’m not sure if it was C related but this was definitely the shortest Catholic wedding I’ve ever covered, and it was really well done. It felt like it was actually about the couple, which is not always the case.
