Hollins Hall Wedding Photographer

I’m a Manchester-based wedding photographer who covers weddings in Greater Manchester, Yorkshire, Cheshire, Lancashire, North Wales, Cumbria and all across North West England. Read on to learn about being a Hollins Hall Wedding Photographer.

My style is natural and relaxed with most of my coverage being documentary in approach and some great portraiture as well. I love working with happy quirky couples who want to have fun on their wedding day.

Hollins Hall Hotel

Hollins Hall hotel is an absolutely stunning West Yorkshire wedding venue. It’s also a country club with great accommodation, premises and beautiful grounds. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married near Leeds or Bradford.

The Bride and Groom

I had been recommended to the couple by Chloe Blanchfield, a friend from uni. Thanks, Chloe!

Lisa and Patrick are a lovely young couple. We spoke on the phone and they quickly booked me. They are also very organised which helped immensely.

The Wedding Day

Lisa had booked an Airbnb in nearby Saltaire, Shipley for the night before the wedding. West Yorkshire isn’t a long distance away for me but it was definitely a warm journey. I really must get my aircon sorted.

We arrived at their prep venue and set out to capture the wedding details.

Once Lisa and her bridal party were ready we walked to a local park. This was special to them for their wedding photography.

The Wedding Ceremony

After the shots with their family and bridesmaids. My son and I drove over to the church.

The Catholic Church of Saint Mary and Saint Walburga is also in Shipley so a very short drive away. They had been kind enough to reserve a parking space for us.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful and father Kieren was kind and welcoming. He definitely got a few laughs during the ceremony. He was very accommodating and allowed free reign for us to take photos. As long as we didn’t get in the way.

I had Aeron shoot from the balcony so we could get some different angles on the bride and her father walking down the aisle.

After the ceremony, we all went outside for a confetti walk.

Aeron and I then got all our gear ready to head over to Hollins Hall Hotel where they were to have their reception.

Hollins Hall Wedding Photography

We got to Hollins Hall first and devided our efforts. While I was taking pictures of their guests arriving Aeron headed indoors to get detail shots.

The couple had hired a Mercedes from somewhere in Bradford for their wedding. What was unusual was that they had hired it for themselves to drive rather than having a chauffeur. The groom drove but I think that was more down to the big dress rather than any gender role.

Hollins Hall has plenty of parking so they did the drop-off at the main reception before Patrick then had to move their car.

We were lucky to have beautiful weather. All the guests had a drink then we gathered everyone for the group photos.

An Unusual Order

Most weddings have the wedding breakfast then the cake and the first dance later. Not Lisa and Patrick.

They had decided to have speeches then the cake cutting first. The First Dance and a bit of dancing before moving onto the wedding buffet. Aeron and I had been told we could help ourselves to the food so we were happy 🙂

Couple Portraits

I had done some couple shots earlier after the formals but I think of those as my safety shots. By far the best time to get the couple portraits is in the evening when the light can be amazing.

We headed out into the stunning grounds of Hollins Hall for the photos. The golfers had finished so we were able to spend some time on more beautiful portraits.
