Oddfellows on the Park is a lovely, quirky venue in Bruntwood Park, Cheadle. It’s not an odd venue really, just charmingly different. There are lovely grounds to walk around and pleasant outdoor areas to sit, drink and relax in. The food is superb and the staff were very helpful.
Cath and Ian’s Wedding at Oddfellows on the Park
Cath and Ian’s wedding was quite late in the day one, therefore I had plenty of time to look around before heading up to meet Cath. She was getting ready with her daughters in a long, narrow and quite dark room. Her daughters were relaxing on the bed enjoying themselves while the makeup artist worked with Cath. It was so dark that I set up one of my lights to help the makeup artist, though admittedly it helped me too.
I worked with Cath and her daughters for a while then went to catch up with Ian and his party. Then it was back to Cath for her reveal to her dad – always a lovely moment. Then it was down to the ceremony. It took me a few minutes to realise that I couldn’t get the geometry right because the room wasn’t straight. I should have expected that really. There were plenty of laughs smiles and even a few tears (Ian’s) but it was a lovely ceremony to witness.
After that, there were canapes and mulled wine then a brief break before the wedding breakfast and speeches. These were short, sweet, full of love and funny, the best kind. By the time the wedding breakfast was done, it was getting dark, so we all headed out for the group shots then I took Cath and Ian for some couples portraits. We did these both inside and out in the darkened grounds, which made for some lovely moody shots.
The rest of the day went quickly and not long after first dance I bade them farewell and all the best. The are a lovely couple.
